Taking Our Kids To First Zoo In Netherlands

Burgers’ Zoo is situated in Arnhem, Netherlands, and holds a truly special place in our hearts. This is a zoo Mehran visited during his childhood, and we were extremely excited to take our kids there in Summer 2025 to create brand new family memories.

A Short Visit to Burgers’ Zoo Arnhem

As one of the largest zoos in the Netherlands, you can easily spend half a day exploring everything it has to offer. During our visit, the entrance ticket was 29 Euros per person. Because we were a little short on time, we spent about 2 hours there and prioritized our route according to the specific animals we were most interested in watching.

Wildlife Encounters and Playgrounds

Even with a shorter visit, we managed to see an incredible variety of wildlife. We saw elephants, meerkats, leopards, ponies, cows, snakes, tigers, monkeys, lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, and deer. Along the way, we also came across many different species of birds and fish.

If you are traveling with toddlers or young children, you will be happy to know that the zoo features multiple playgrounds. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed a portion of the visit playing at one of them, which gave them a perfect chance to burn off some energy. We also stopped at one of the restaurants for lunch before continuing our exploration of the zoo.

Final Remarks

Overall, Burgers’ Zoo had a decent number of inhabitants and we all had a lot of fun there. If you are looking for a children-friendly activity, give this zoo a visit.
