In December 2025, we visited Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore as a beautiful celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary. We spent a little over a week exploring the wonders of Malaysia. During our time staying in Kuala Lumpur, we decided to take a day trip to Putrajaya, and we absolutely loved the calm and quiet vibe of the city.

The Perfect Putrajaya Itinerary
The second day of our Malaysian trip was dedicated to a half-day trip to Putrajaya. Serving as the administrative capital of Malaysia, this city is packed with spectacular architectural gems.
A few years ago, I read the incredible Urdu novel Haalim by Nemrah Ahmed. The gripping story was set across Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Melaka. I was deeply inspired to visit Putrajaya after reading Haalim, so getting to see it in person was a dream come true. We simply booked a Grab ride from Kuala Lumpur to arrive comfortably at our very first location.
Anjung Floria
Anjung Floria is an expansive public park that offers extremely scenic views of the man-made Putrajaya Lake. The park was partly closed during our visit due to upcoming firework celebrations, but we were still able to explore quite a few areas.
We spent an hour wandering through the greenery and would definitely have stayed longer if the weather had been less humid. We thoroughly loved exploring the park paths with the tranquil view of the lake right beside us. There was a lovely playground where our kids played for a bit, alongside multiple beautiful gardens that our entire family loved.
The Iron Mosque (Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin)
Our second spot was the beautiful and breathtaking Iron Mosque. We explored the grand structure from the outside and found the modern, metallic architecture to be completely stunning. It offers a completely different aesthetic compared to traditional mosques.
Putrajaya Square and the Federal Court of Malaysia
As we walked towards Putrajaya Square, we passed the Federal Court of Malaysia. This was yet another architectural marvel boasting a highly sophisticated design.
Until we arrived at Putrajaya Square itself, we truly believed that we were exploring an extremely quiet, non-tourist location. Putrajaya Square was the first spot where we encountered a good number of people. As the vibrant heart of the city, the square is an extremely beautiful location for taking photos and soaking in the local atmosphere.
Perdana Putra
Perdana Putra is the official complex housing the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The building was absolutely breathtaking and stands as a major tourist landmark. We spent quite a lot of time standing back and admiring the majestic architecture before moving on to our final location.
Putra Mosque (The Pink Mosque)
The Putra Mosque, widely known as the Pink Mosque, was our last checkpoint in Putrajaya. It features a stunning pink color palette that is incredibly soothing to the eyes. The Putra Mosque easily turned out to be one of our top favorite mosques in all of Malaysia.
The architecture was amazing both from the outside and the inside. We stopped to pray at the mosque and noticed a large crowd of tourists admiring the intricate details as well. Outside the entrance, there were different shopping stalls setup, and I ended up buying a few beautiful Hijabs. Visiting the Putra Mosque was the best possible end to our exploration of Putrajaya.
Final Remarks
Putrajaya takes you away from the hustle of the Malaysian capital. The drive is scenic and Putrajaya itself is just great. Putra Mosque and Perdana Putra were the highlights for us. If you love architecture and beautiful masjids, dont forget to visit putrajaya during your trip to malaysia.
