5 Breathtaking Reasons Lake Zug Switzerland Is the Ultimate Family Day Trip
Another One Of Our Favourite Swiss Lakes
Lake Zug, known locally as Zugersee, is one of our absolute favorite regular hangout spots. It has a wonderful color and the view is just breathtaking. We love going to the lake on a sunny day.
We started going to the lake when I first moved to Switzerland, and we continued visiting regularly later with our kids as well. It has become a cornerstone of our family memories over the years.

1. The Breathtaking Views and Stunning Water
The primary reason we keep coming back is the sheer natural beauty. The lake has a wonderful color and the panoramic views are just breathtaking, making it the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day outside.
2. Beautiful Local Wildlife and Consistency
There is a beautiful predictability to nature here that makes every return trip special. A few years after our very first visit, we returned to find the exact same scenery waiting for us.
3. A Massive Grassy Area for Kids and Adults
There is a large grassy area where the kids can run wild, play football, and play catch. Adults can also enjoy some badminton or just sit and relax while the kids go crazy. It offers the perfect balance of activity and relaxation.
4. The Lakeside Track and Scenic Playground
There is a fantastic small playground located right on the track along the lake where our kids love playing. It allows the little ones to climb and swing while parents take in the gorgeous waterside scenery.
5. Delicious Ice Cream Stalls and Promenade Walks
When the weather is warm, our favorite activity is getting some ice cream from the nearby stalls and walking along the lake. It is the quintessential Swiss summer experience. In Springs, we thoroughly enjoy the cherry blossom trees.

Final Remarks
Overall, Zugersee is the best destination to visit if you are in Zug and looking to spend a few hours enjoying nature and relaxing. Our whole family loves the lake as there is something special to enjoy for both kids and adults.
P.s. If you visit in the Spring season, you should be able to spot a few beautiful cherry blossom trees near the lake.
