10th Wedding Anniversary Magic at Universal Studios Singapore
A Day With Minions and Transformers
For our 10th wedding anniversary in December 2025, Mehran and I decided to do something a little unconventional. While some might choose a quiet dinner, we are massive geeks who live for the thrill of attraction parks. Taking our family of four to Universal Studios Singapore (USS) was easily the best decision we ever made.

Arriving in Singapore
- Via Train or Bus: Singapore serves as the southern gateway to the Malay Peninsula. Frequent KTM Intercity and ETS trains connect the city-state to Kuala Lumpur and beyond, arriving via the Woodlands Train Checkpoint. For a more flexible budget option, dozens of long-distance bus operators run routes from various Malaysian cities directly into hubs like Golden Mile, Boon Lay, or Queen Street. - Via Flight: Fly into Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), located 20 minutes from downtown via the MRT or taxi. As a world-class global hub, it hosts both major international airlines and budget carriers. To find the best airfare deals, search and book your flights here.

A Geeky Dream Anniversary Celebration
Our family is always enthusiastic about theme parks and there could not have been a better location to celebrate. We arrived at Universal Studios right after breakfast and spent a glorious day there until 5 PM.
Pro-tip: Universal Studios Singapore is extremely popular. Secure your ticket in-advance below to save time.
As fans of Minions, Transformers, and Jurassic Park, Mehran and I were in geek-land. I also have a huge soft spot for the classics I grew up with, like Sesame Street and Shrek. Our daughter is currently obsessed with Hello Kitty and Minions, and our son happily follows whatever his big sister likes. This made USS the perfect spot for every member of the family.
Exploring the Magic of Universal Studios Singapore
While we did not indulge in every high-speed rollercoaster this time around, we had a fantastic experience simply walking through the themed lands and enjoying the family-friendly rides.
We spent a significant portion of our day at Minion Land enjoying the display figures as well as the rides. For a themed lunch, we treated ourselves to Shrek Waffles and Iced Chocolate at a restaurant, which was as delicious as it was photogenic.
Final Remarks
The park was extremely crowded during the December peak season and each ride had a wait of 30+ minutes. If our focus had been on rides, we would have definitely invested in the Universal Express Pass to skip the lines.
We ended our anniversary with our hands full of shopping bags containing Minions, Hello Kitty, and Transformers merchandise. We walked out of the park with zero regrets and a heart full of memories. We had a blast and loved spending such a special day here.
