2 Awesome Days in Singapore to Celebrate Our 10th Wedding Anniversary
Our 10th Anniversary Celebration
Exploring Singapore in just two days might seem like a whirlwind, but for our 10th wedding anniversary in December 2025, it was nothing short of perfection. After traveling through Malaysia and Thailand, our family of four arrived in Singapore to find a city that felt remarkably like our home in Switzerland: clean, quiet, and incredibly peaceful.
If you are planning a short getaway, here is exactly how we spent forty eight hours celebrating our milestone in this beautiful country.

Day 1
Universal Studios Singapore
We decided to visit Universal Studios Singapore on our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Our family of four is always enthusiastic about theme parks and there could not have been a better location to celebrate. We arrived at Universal Studios after breakfast and stayed until 5 PM. The entrance ticket for a single adult was S$83.
Pro-tip: Universal Studios Singapore is extremely popular. Secure your ticket in-advance below to save time.
Mehran and I are fans of Minions, Transformers, and Jurassic Park. I also grew up watching Sesame Street and Shrek. Our daughter loves Hello Kitty and Minions, and our son loves everything and anything that his sister likes. Hence, this was the perfect spot to spend this special occasion. While we could not indulge in all the thrilling rollercoasters, we still had a great time walking around the park and experiencing the fun rides.
We spent a lot of time at Minion Land enjoying the display figures as well as the rides. For lunch, we had Shrek Waffles and Iced Chocolate at a restaurant. The park was extremely crowded and each ride had a wait of 30+ minutes. If our focus had been on rides, we would have definitely invested in the Express Pass. At the end of the day, we walked out of the park with our hands full of shopping bags containing Minions, Hello Kitty, and Transformers merchandise.
Haji Lane
After having our anniversary dinner at Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen, we found ourselves at the famous Haji Lane. This was a barely five minute walk from our hotel and I wanted to buy some souvenirs specific to Singapore. The vibe of Haji Lane was just awesome at night. There were so many tourists and locals enjoying food both outdoors and indoors.
Sultan Mosque looked absolutely magnificent at night. We loved the street art and murals that we came across during our walk. We spent half an hour at different shops and found great souvenirs while enjoying the crowd and culture of Haji Lane.
Day 2
Gardens by the Bay
Our second and last day in Singapore was dedicated to the famous Gardens by the Bay. The entrance ticket was S$58. Gardens by the Bay was HUGE and we easily spent almost five hours exploring the different parts. We started at the gardens outside exploring the parts available for free visit before moving towards the indoor gardens.
Pro-tip: The waiting queues are very long. Secure your ticket in-advance below and save time.
We were already impressed by the outdoors but the indoor gardens had a jaw dropping effect on us. We started at the Flower Dome which had a large collection of plants featured from different parts of the world. There was a special Christmas exhibition of trains happening during our visit. The kids enjoyed the moving trains a lot and kept on following them.
Our next stop was the Cloud Forest which had a Jurassic Park exhibition happening at the time. As dinosaur fans, we were intrigued by the life sized, almost real dinosaurs present at the exhibition. This part was even more impressive than the last with its magnificent waterfall and forest like vibe.
Next, we made our way towards the Supertree Observatory. This was an observatory providing stunning views of the gardens from a height of 50 meters. We experienced breathtaking views of not only the gardens but also of Singapore. Our last location was Floral Fantasy which was enjoyed the most by our two kids. The colorful exhibition titled “My Little Pony: Petals of Friendship” was the star of the show for the kids. Floral Fantasy was mostly occupied by families and kids which gave our children an opportunity to run around freely.
Haji Lane
We used GRAB to arrive at Haji Lane for a second time. We wanted to have some food before picking up our luggage from the hotel and heading to the airport for our flight back to Malaysia. We returned to Haji Lane because of its diverse Halal food options. Just like our first visit, Haji Lane on Day 2 also had a very homely and welcoming vibe. We visited Sultan Mosque and offered prayers before having dinner and walking around the lane one last time. From there, we started our journey out of Singapore.

Eminami Halal Vietnam is a Halal Vietnamese restaurant located at Haji Lane. We had been spoiled by an awesome Beef Pho in Malaysia a few days before visiting this restaurant. We came looking for Pho but it gave us so much more. We ordered Fried Spring Rolls, Fresh Spring Rolls, Chicken Skewers, Beef Pho, and Beef Banh Mi. The food was awesome and we kept on returning to most of the dishes. However, my favorite dish was the Fresh Spring Rolls while Mehran could not get over how tasty the Beef Banh Mi was. All in all, we walked out of the restaurant with big smiles.
Final Remarks
Firstly, I can safely say that two days is an extremely small amount of time to explore Singapore. We would have loved to explore it some more if our schedule had given us the opportunity. Nevertheless, Singapore was just awesome. It was peaceful, it was beautiful, and the food was just great. The amount of Halal food available in this small country was just impressive. Gardens by the Bay and Haji Lane were probably the icons of Singapore that we most appreciated. Who knows, some day we might return to explore this peaceful country some more.
