Getting Around and Staying in Switzerland

Animal Encounters and Baby Animals

Our family adventure began the moment we walked through the gates. The zoo inhabitants included horses, ponies, goats, penguins, zebras, and giraffes. The best thing about this zoo was that it had a lot of baby animals, and my kids loved interacting with them. There was also the opportunity to pet ponies and goats, and our daughter really enjoyed that.

Playgrounds and the Zoo Cinema

Beyond the animal encounters, the zoo had a decent area and there were small playgrounds where kids could get their energies out. If you need a little break, you can head over to the zoo cinema. The zoo cinema showed a short movie on the inhabitants which was way too long for our kids and they got bored pretty quickly, so you might want to skip it if you have very young toddlers.

Family Activities and Highlights

Even if you miss out on the cinema, there are plenty of other activities to keep everyone entertained. The zoo also had a horse drawn tram ride that our daughter enjoyed a lot. It was a wonderful way to sit back and take in the beautiful surroundings. We had a nice lunch at one of the restaurants and we all enjoyed the Fish, Falafel and French Fries.

Final Remarks

Overall we all had a really nice time at this extremely scenic zoo and would encourage people with small kids to visit Knie Kinderzoo. While the zoo is smaller than Zoo ZĂĽrich and Zoo Basel, it is definitely well worth the ticket cost.
