Exploring the Sandsteinhöhlen Caves
To start our journey, we drove from Zurich directly to a parking lot located near the caves. From the parking area, we walked nearly 500 meters to reach the main site. The entire path was completely stroller friendly, and we did not have any issues reaching the caves with our daughter’s stroller.
During our relaxing walk, we came across multiple interesting looking caves. We decided to go inside some of the accessible caves, and we found them to be extremely spooky! We purposefully did not use a flashlight inside the caves because we had read beforehand that bats can be found nesting in some of them.
In total, we spent a little over an hour at the caves. The walk itself was incredibly relaxing, and we thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous view of the nearby town from the top during our stroll.
