1 Thrilling Gurten Tobogganing Adventure: Stunning Views Over Bern
Tobogganing In Autumn
Gurten is a beautiful mountain located in the Canton of Bern, situated just a short distance from Bern City. We had to visit Bern in 2020 for some passport paperwork, and we decided to turn the trip into an adventure by spending a few hours exploring Gurten.

Getting to Gurten Mountain
To reach the top, we took the famous Gurten funicular. A return ticket cost us just 4 CHF, making it an incredibly affordable way to ascend the mountain.

Autumn Scenery and Picnicking
We visited during the autumn season, and the entire landscape was absolutely stunning. The mountain was covered in a beautiful blanket of orange, brown, and red fallen leaves. We spent about two hours at the peak enjoying the crisp air. Because we traveled during the pandemic when the local restaurants were closed, we brought our own food and had a lovely little picnic on the grounds.
The Thrill of Gurten Tobogganing
After eating, we stumbled upon the Gurten summer toboggan run. We love tobogganing, so we immediately decided to jump in and have some fun, especially since it was priced at an affordable 4 CHF per run.
The experience was highly adventurous, and the track is a decent size. We enjoyed it so much that we did two runs before exploring the rest of the mountain on foot.
Final Remarks
Beyond the ride itself, the panoramic view of Bern City from the mountain summit was truly spectacular. We definitely recommend Gurten to everyone for its beautiful views, exciting toboggan run, and budget-friendly prices.
